How to Create Effect, Title and Generator in Motion?

Motion is a behavior-driven motion graphics application that allows you to create stunning imaging effects for a wide variety of broadcast, video, and film projects. Motion lets you create sophisticated moving images and other visual effects on the fly and in real time. Whether you need simple text effects like lower-thirds and credit rolls, a complex 3D motion graphics project for a show intro or television commercial, or more advanced image manipulation techniques to stabilize footage or composite green screen effects, Motion has a flexible tool set to meet your motion graphics needs.

Steps for Creating a New Effect Template in Motion:
  • In Motion, choose File > New From Project Browser (or press Option-Command-N).
  • In the Project Browser, click Final Cut Effect, then click the Preset pop-up menu and choose a project size.
  • Click Open (or press Return)-A new, untitled Motion project opens, with the Effect Source placeholder layer selected.
  • Add a reference image to the Effects Source placeholder to preview your work, do one of the following:
    • In the toolbar, click Import, then drag a still image from the dialog to the placeholder arrow in the canvas (or to the Effect Source layer in the Layers list).
    • From the Finder or Library, drag a still image to the placeholder arrow in the canvas (or to the Effect Source layer in the Layers list).
Release the mouse button when the pointer is over the placeholder.
The image is added to the Effect Source layer, replacing the arrow graphic in the canvas. This image is temporary media used to preview the result of the effect you are building.
  • Add filters or behaviors to the Effect Source layer to create a custom effect. Filters are special effects used to modify the appearance of images and video clips.
  • Choose Publish from the Animation pop-up menu of each parameter you want to make accessible.
  • Remove the preview image from the template by selecting the Effect Source layer, then clicking the Clear button in the Image Inspector.
  • Choose File > Save, then do the following:
  • In the save dialog, enter a name for the template.
  • Choose a category from the Category pop-up menu.
  • Click Publish.
The template and remaining media are saved Motion project browser (exported to Final cut pro effect browser).
Steps for Creating a New Generator Template:
A generator template is similar to a standard Motion project. However, when saved, it’s exported to the Generators browser in Final Cut Pro.
  • In Motion, choose File > New From Project Browser (or press Option-Command-N).
  • In the Project Browser, click Final Cut Generator, then choose a project size from the Preset pop-up menu.
  • Click Open (or press Return).
  • A new, untitled project opens. The project contains no placeholders.
  • Build the project using shapes, text, behaviors, camera animation, and so on.
  • Choose Publish from the Animation pop-up menu of each parameter you want to make accessible.
  • Choose File > Save, then:
In the save dialog, enter a name for the template.
  • Choose a category from the Category pop-up menu.
    Click Publish.
The template is saved and exported to the Final Cut Pro Generators browser.

Steps for creating Titles in Motion:
  • In Motion, choose File > New From Project Browser (or press Option-Command-N).
  • In the Project Browser, click Final Cut Title, then click the Preset pop-up menu and choose a project size.
  • Click Open (or press Return).
A new, untitled Motion project opens containing two layers: a text layer  and a placeholder layer.

To add a reference image to the Title Background placeholder to preview your work, do one of the following:
  • In the toolbar, click Import, then drag a still image from the dialog to the placeholder arrow in the canvas.
  • From the Finder or Library, drag a still image to the placeholder arrow in the canvas.
  • Release the mouse button when the pointer is over a placeholder.
The image is added to the Title Background layer, replacing the down arrow graphic in the canvas. This image is temporary media used to preview the effect you are building.
  • Modify the text as needed and add animation, filters, text behaviors, and other effects to create custom titles.
  •  Choose Publish from the Animation pop-up menu of each parameter you want to make accessible.
  • Remove the preview image from the template by selecting the Effect Source layer, then clicking the Clear button in the Image Inspector.
  • Choose File > Save
  • In the save dialog, enter a name for the template.
  • Choose a category from the Category pop-up menu. (You can also create a custom category. Custom categories also appear in the browsers.)
  • Click Publish.
The template and remaining media are saved and exported to the Final Cut Pro Titles browser.

Importance of Titles and Credits Designing in Films or Movies

Animation designers use latest computer technology to apply effects in images, movies, websites, and video games, etc. They also help in projects and animators to develop 3D animations. According to the latest survey Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) most animators have a bachelor's degree in a field like computer graphics or animation. A professional animator always works hard to improve their skills.

Most Important Software for animation designer to improve skills:
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Flash
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Maya 3-D
  • 3D Studio Max
  • Cinema 4D
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Apple FCP
We at ADMEC Multimedia Institute provides diploma courses in computer graphics and animation. We have a group of industry expert faculty, who are expert in different-2 software as mentioned above. The training for our computer graphics and animation course is conducted by these experts only. We have successfully trained more than two thousand students, through our classroom and online training from all over the world.

Importance of title design:
The designing of title in animated videos represents the first impression to the audience and it's called right key to get the audience in the right mood for your work and skill. A great title represents the whole work in on a single title through which audience understands what they are looking for.

Title design is used to serve an extra purpose in animation. Designing of elements in animation always need to be specified or simplified or toned down just by the sheer fact that we will eventually need to get the project done. Designing of Title provides step in solution to really flex our design skills and help to show off your real sensibilities presented in videos by time or constraints.

If our title design is our first impression, then our end credits design will be also last impressed. Because it is very last thing for to audiences to see our work is good or bad.
Now a day all the movies are created with more and more unique end title sequences, which is beneficial for both the audience and people worked on the movie. Using unique end title sequences we can attract an audience by providing them something to enjoy and people worked on movie also take interest to develop this type of concept.

Generally, when we just cut to black with white text, then the audience will immediately move down from their position and they understand the movie is over. If we provide something interesting then audience stay engaged in our work till the whole movie is over and this credit goes to the person who worked on the movie.

WebDesign is a way to improve the presentations of contents that is visible to end user through the world wide web with the help of a web browser or other web-enabled software.

Basics Approach And Principle to Design an Animation Sequence

The visual changes in scene with respect to time is called animation. This visual change in the scene is not associated only in the position of the object, but also in the shape, color, transparency, structure and texture. In early days animation is very tough to learn and time consuming. But now a days use of computer technology makes it's easy to learn and more powerful. Lots of computer software available using which we can draw images and playing them with high speed in animation.

Generally computer animation subset of both animation technology and computer graphics. And it is achieved through a series of geometric transformations-scaling, translation, rotation or any mathematical technique-to produce a sequence of scenes. In addition, we can also create animation by any of the following:

Camera accessories: It includes camera focus, camera position with respect to object, camera distance from the object and orientation etc.

Lighting Condition: It involves the direction of the object and color of the light, the number of the lights and so on etc.

Now a days computer animation is widely used for producing motion pictures, cartoon movies, and video games in the entertainment industry. In addition, it is also widely used in education, training, industrial applications, advertising, visualization and many engineering applications etc.

In early days animation sequence was created by drawing different images in different frames and then it's play in high speed. But in these days, it's created with the help of a computer. We can create required frames as per requirements using computer easily and then it can be played with high speed.

There are four basics approach to design an animation sequence namely:
  • storyboard layout
  • object definitions
  • key frame specifications
  • generation of in-between frames
Along with the above basics, there are twelve main principles of animation which are given by the Disney animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas in 1981 in their book The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation. The main aim of the principles was to produce an illusion of characters accepting the basic laws of physics.

The principles are:
  • Squash and stretch
  • Timing
  • Anticipation
  • Follow through and overlapping actions
  • Staging
  • Straight ahead action and pose-to-pose action
  • Slow in and slow out (or ease in and ease out)
  • Arcs:
  • Secondary actions
  • Solid drawing
  • Appeal
  • Key frame systems
