Understand the Terms Web Design and Web Development

Web Design is a way to improve the presentations of contents that is visible to end user through the world wide web with the help of a web browser or other web-enabled software. The main intention of web design to create a website that includes electronic files that reside on a web server such as text, images, banner, videos, logo and interactive features or interface to the end user in the form of web pages.

Before deciding to choose your career in web design and web development you must have to understand the two terms web design and web development. Lots of people understand these two terms “web design and web development” interchangeably but the actual meaning of these terms has two different meanings. 

Generally there are three are three layers of work for most of websites:

Content or Structure :The content or structure layers include what your customer or reader gets when they visit your web page. Content or image attracts the customer or reader to stay your website. XHTML used in web development to develop content layers and also structure of a web document. 

Style or Presentations:This layer includes the appearance of a document on the page to the readers. This layer defined by CSS that help developers to display their document according to their choice.

Behavior or Logic: This layer includes language used for the develop the websites and work according to that language. For example: If we use PHP or CGI the then PHP, or CGI scripts takes actions when readers clicks on web pages.

Let's understand the meaning of web design and web development:

I. Web Design 

The term web design refers to customers facing-part of the website. It's included with site look and the customer interaction with the website. A professional web designer knows how to put text, image, banner, video and logo etc to create an interactive website. He also understands the principles of design to provide sites look better.

• Emphasis
• Rhythm
• Unity

I want to tell you about two deeply related terms with web designing here too.

1. GUI or Graphic User Interface designing:
   All the creative process, design brief, planning for colors & typography etc fall under this area of specialization. In short template or user interface designing using Adobe Photoshop known as GUI (pronounced as gu-ee) designing.

2. UI or User Interface Development:
   After the GUI designing a professional converts that still image to the clickable web page and uses HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, AngularJS, Bootstrap etc.

II.Web Development

The term web development refers to back-end programming and interactions of the websites. In this we generally focus how our websites working and how our customers get products or services. A professional web developers know CGI, UI and SCRIPTING programming. They understand how to create web forms can keep a site running effectively.

For web development knowledge of any of these languages includes PHP (Word press, Drupal and Joomla) or Java or python or Asp.Net or Java Script is essential. A well professional developers also know scripting, programming, UI programming and e-commerce etc to develop a good website.
